Susan Renati fronts Secret Lives with a gritty, groove-driven, rockin’ style and a strong connection to the crowd. She began singing on stage six years ago and quickly found her place in the Marin County music scene. Susan first took the lead with Neon Grey, a 70s and 80s rock cover band she fronted for four years. She has since collaborated on a range of projects, including The Project, exploring artists like Talking Heads and Peter Gabriel, and a funk-focused project, The Funk Buddies, inspired by 70s icons such as Sly and the Family Stone. Her performance experience includes appearances at local venues and community events, including a benefit show at The Sweetwater Music Hall. These experiences shaped her versatile, high-energy vocal approach that she has brought to Secret Lives since 2025.

Drummer Brian Fleischer was born and raised in Mexico City, and has been playing drums and annoying parents since getting his first set at age 10. Entirely self-taught, Brian Fleischer’s influences include John Bonham, Neal Peart, Matt Sorum, Kenny Aronoff, and the not-so-guilty pleasure he gets from 80s hair band music. He has been in multiple original and cover bands throughout his career, and with Secret Lives he lays down concrete rock rhythms and thumping grooves for the rest of the band.

Bassist Ben Lang has played with several Northern California bands in the Bay Area and Chico, CA, including Biv and the Mnemonics (aka Roy G Biv & The Mnemonic Devices), Azalea Drive, and The Devil’s Chord. As a solo artist, Ben Lang performs every Friday at the Le Chalet Basque restaurant in San Rafael, CA, or at the occasional show, party, wedding, or open mic around town. His debut solo release Modern Man EP was released to critical acclaim and is available now everywhere music is streamed and sold.
